After just one year of its most recent expansion in the financial district, Piloto 151, Puerto Rico’s first and largest coworking space, announced the opening of its fourth location and its second space in the heart of Santurce.

With this fourth location, Piloto 151 will add an additional 15,000 square feet to its footprint for a total of approximately 50,000 square feet of managed commercial real estate between its locations in Old San Juan, Milla de Oro and Santurce. The coworking pioneer will open this new location in the San José Tower building, joining its fellow entrepreneurship ecosystem player, Parallel18.

For Sofia Stolberg, co-founder and CEO of Piloto 151, the key to success has always been tied to continuous innovation and community building. “We are constantly innovating at Piloto. Just as we did with our Suites concept which opened two years ago and disrupted the coworking market at the time, we have now created a completely new and exciting concept that did not previously exist. We realized that there was a gap in the market for entrepreneurs and professionals that couldn’t work in open spaces due to the nature of their businesses, but who didn’t have the employees or revenues to justify a larger office. This new space is designed with that entrepreneur in mind and boasts smaller offices from one, two, three and a maximum of four people per office. At the same time, we also created plenty of open and green spaces to continue creating community building opportunities, including a large outdoor terrace overlooking the iconic Museum of Contemporary Art where we will host entrepreneurial events,” said Stolberg.

This new space will offer all of the Piloto 151 memberships — Virtual Offices which include permitting, mail management and handling through a mobile application and use of the space; Café memberships to work from open spaces; 8 dedicated Estación desks; and 23 private offices. The amenities of this location include a dedicated fiber optic circuit by Gigabit1 from Aeronet with added redundancy, ergonomic Herman Miller chairs from MOS Collection, a full back up generator and cistern, four lounges, a fully equipped conference room and a 5,000 square foot outdoor terrace.

According to Stolberg, design has always been an integral part of the Piloto 151 experience. “This new location captures our accumulated industry, design and architectural experience. Piloto Parada 18 is the first space that is one hundred percent designed by our new in-house architecture and design team. It incorporates urban elements and local art while also creating a delicate balance between closed and open spaces, giving our members the high-quality and inspiring spatial and functional experience that is characteristic of all of our spaces,” said Stolberg.

For Juan Carlos Stolberg, co-founder of Piloto 151, “with the launch of each new location we create more value for Piloto members and for our community. We are constantly looking for new ways to make life easier for our members so that they, in turn, can focus on growing their businesses and contributing to the island’s economic development. In addition to increasing and improving our one-stop-shop business service offerings, now our members will have one more place where they can meet, host events and network with the startup and technology ecosystem in Puerto Rico.”
