Motivated by the new digital banking trends that many Puerto Ricans are now using, Banco Popular has opened a new space at The Mall of San Juan.
Dubbed the “Digital Hub,” the bank’s new location is aimed at the technologically savvy consumer who regularly transfers money between various account, makes payments and checks their balances on their smartphones.
Designed in a modern style, the Digital Hub takes into account the new trends of bank offices worldwide, aimed at the use of internet, self-service channels and a more personalized attention through specialized consultants.
The Digital Hub will have banking consultants who will offer advice on Popular's digital banking services, as well as opening of individual and commercial accounts, among others. In addition, ATMs with touch screens are available for customers to make deposits, payments, withdrawals and as an “innovative element,” these ATMs will offer clients the option of withdrawing $1 and $5 bills.
"This service platform focuses on two of our pillars, innovation and customer service, where we seek to provide a transactional experience that facilitates and streamlines the services our customers receive," said Vivien Montañez, first vice president of Popular’s Individual Banking Administration.
"One of Popular's goals is to promote among its customers the use of digital channels for the accessibility and speed they provide, and those efforts have paid off. To mention an example, features such as Easy Deposit, whose objective is to offer the customer more options to deposit, currently processes over 700,000 transactions per month. This is not to mention the transactions that are carried out in channels like My Mobile Bank that has 900,000 users, which makes this new service model at The Mall of San Juan more than justified," Montañez said.
The Digital Hub is located on the north side of the mall, next to Metropol Restaurant, and will offer services Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and during the holiday season, on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
